    Job Summary

    The Meat Cutter, under the direction of the Head Butcher, will primarily be responsible to cut meat and poultry in accordance with the highest standards of the company . This position will ensure food is handled, stored, and cooked according to health and safety standards, and that proper cleanup occurs to meet health regulations. This role will also adhere to and enforce all appropriate workplace regulations, compliances, and legislation regarding health and safety, food preparation standards, and company policies and procedures including keeping a clean workstation. The Meat Cutter must possess ability to regularly lift approximately 60 lbs and occasionally lift up to 125lbs and 2 to 3 years of experience preparing retail cuts of meat .

    Job Duties

    • Cut meat and poultry in accordance with the highest standards of the company 
    • Ensure food is handled, stored, and cooked according to health and safety standards, and that proper cleanup occurs to meet health regulations
    • Adhere to and enforce all appropriate workplace regulations, compliances, and legislation regarding health and safety, food preparation standards, and company policies and procedures including keeping a clean workstation
    • Rotate and replace meat products in the fresh and frozen displays to ensure satisfactory inventory levels
    • Clean agreed designated areas in accordance with laid-down procedures, morning or evening routines, and hygiene requirements
    • Ensure all equipment and tools are being used safely and according to provided direction
    • Take orders from customers and ensure these are given to the appropriate person to execute
    • Greet customers with a smile and answer their questions as required
    • Protect the health and safety of others by adopting safe work practices and reporting unsafe conditions immediately

    Job Requirements

    • Ability to regularly lift approximately 60 lbs and occasionally lift up to 125lbs
    • 2 to 3 years of experience preparing retail cuts of meat 
    • Demonstrated time management skills
    • Ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations
    • Able to take instructions and effectively handle changing priorities
